General Membership Benefits:
• Free use of our library and our collections for research.
• A subscription to the Society's quarterly.
• A subscription to the Society's newsletter containing up-to-date
information on events, programs, and other information.
• Free admission to our various programs.
• Other benefits include reduced admission to museums belonging
to the Vermont Museum and Gallery Alliance.
Membership at the Regular
and above level helps us underwrite our yearly operating expenses
at the Rutland Historical Society. Please select the level of membership
with which you can be comfortable.
Membership includes
a Rutland Historical Society Quarterly subscription valued at $8.00.
According to I.R.S. guidelines, your payment less $8.00 is the tax
deductible portion of membership fees.

Volunteering Serve as a volunteer – You can make a difference
Donate your time and energy by joining us as a volunteer at the Society. We are looking for people to help us in a variety of ways. Here are some of the great and important things our current volunteers are doing:

Walking tour guide
Public speaking
Host for some of our television programs
Guest on some of our television programs
Become one of our guest authors
Help clean and maintain our building
Process & catalog: artifacts, books, and archival material
Promote Society membership
Work on developing & maintaining our web site
Plan & organize interesting programs on historical topics
Work on Loyalty Day and Halloween parade committee
Design & implement exhibits
Assist in meeting public research requests
Plan and implement production of quarterlies and newsletters
Serve on Finance committee
Serve on Fund raising committee
Serve on Long-range planning committee
