Miss Mary
L. Hulihan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hulihan of Center Rutland
and Harry J. Novak of East Street, were married at St. Peter's church
yesterday morning at 9 o'clock, Rev. J. M. Brown conducting nuptial
high mass. Mrs. J. J. Lalor officiated at the organ and the
St. Peter's quarter sang "Veni Cresto". The bridesmaid
was Miss Margaret Hulihan, sister of the bride, and Joyce D. Spellman,
a cousin of the groom, acted as best man.
The bride was dressed
in eyelet embroidery, trimmed with Irish lace and a white satin
hat. She carried white chrysanthemums. The bridesmaid's
gown was of white embroidery batiste over pink messaline, trimmed
with baby Irish lace. She wore a pink satin hat and carried pink
chrysanthemums.
Albert Hewitt, Jeremiah
Murphy, William Hulihan and Dyer Spellman acted as ushers.
Following the ceremony
the guests were tendered a reception and wedding breakfast at the
bride's home, where the bridal party received under an archway of
banked ferns and pink and white carnations. Pink and white
prevailed in the color scheme and chrysanthemums were used extensively
in the decorations. The Rutland Catering company catered and
music was furnished by Copp's orchestra.
Gifts of mahogany and
oak furniture, gold, silver, cut glass and linen were received by
the bride, as well as a set of Haviland china from the employees
of the Ross-Huntress company, where the bride was employed in the
millinery department for seven years.
Mr. and Mrs. Novak left
yesterday afternoon for a trip to New York and Washington, D. C.
They will reside on Spellman terrace upon their return to this city.
