Death of John Hanley

Family Left Without Means. John Hanley Dies Suddenly, Leaving his family In Destitute Circumstances. John Hanley, about 35 years old, employed as a stone cutter by the Columbian Marble Co. died suddenly yesterday morning at his house on West St.  Hanley had not been well and has worked only occasionally for five weeks  or more, during the night he complained of severe pains and  again soon after rising he returned to his bed and died almost immediately.

Heart disease is supposed to have been the cause of his death. The deceased left a widow and five small children, with scarcely any means of support, two of them being twins born about a month ago,  Hanley was well liked and had a large number of friends;  he has played in the band for several years and was one of it's  popular members.  The employees of the Columbian Marble Co, raised nearly $90 which was presented to the widow in the afternoon.
